  do something cool man.
just have a plan ready to go before you up and quit, otherwise you could be stuck someplace worse than you are now.

Keep some options open before you do something you might end up regretting

I agree with Christophe. I almost quit my job last week, but I'm glad I didn't. Not that I like my job that much, but I need to save money so I can do something I really want.

I think it depends on how long were you thinking about it.
Do you know, what that cool new job is about?
Is it possible to make a living with that new job?

Maybe you can find some hobbies or extra things to keep you happy. Sometimes it's the fact that you work work work just to return home and sleep sleep sleep and there is nothing in between to keep stress levels down or give you needed energy.

If your job is really necessary for money at the moment, then you may want to keep it for a bit to save up some cash and do something really big and exciting.

It is not good to make yourself unhappy but life is not always an easy ride...maybe you gotta stick to it for now [?] I really wouldn't know, cos I barely know you and there are so many different things that could be contributing to how you're feeling.

I guess try to weigh everything out accordingly...
Sorry I can't be much of a help :S

Yeah, just a big "what they said."

Sure, you can tell the world to fuck off, but you gotta rely on it eventually. When you don't have a steady source of income, money starts going fast.

However, if your plan is to become a hobo, amish, or somebody who lives off the land, I'd say go for it!

you know, I think id' love to be amish. aside from the religious part.

but the whole barn-building, cow-milking, qilt-making, butter-churning thing appeals oh so much

that, or becoming part of a commune (and really, they're mor less the same thing, right?)

so if you Do decide to turn on, tune in and drop out, can I please come cook for your little counter-culture?

Darlin', you can cook for me anytime, unless of course I'm doing the cooking.
Today(Sunday afternoon), I'm making chicken saltimbocca with spinach, ham, and basil stuffing.

A lot of people ask me "Should i keep my job, i know it's boring and degrading and soul crushing and back breaking and i'd rather be sodomised by a rusty pipe but i get money and i get security blah blah ad nauseum."

My answer is simple

Killing spree.

i was thinking of that gnarly glove that the undertaker (from WWE) wears. mwah hahahahaha

yes! together, we will rule the world together (not that kind of togetherness)
and we will crush our opposition.

my mates and gf think i suffer from the grumpy young man syndrome (or GYM)
too much inner angst they say... what's wrong with gunning people down?

like last night when i went to ikea with mo to get a tv shelving unit for my room (love ikea), some asshole pushed her aside. i grabbed a chair from the bin nearby and wanted to wack the shit out of the fella. she stopped me and said violence is not the answer.

it may not be the answer, but it sure feels better
