Better than expected actually.

I thought I was going to flunk miserably, but it should be alright, I'm guessing something like 60-65%.

Geography tomorrow. Had 78% during the first exams, which means that I need to get 22% tomorrow to pass lol.

People are freaking out about it but I don't really see why.

My guess is that the problem with most of my colleagues is that they try to memorise everything.
I just see to it that I understand the principles behind the stuff and build up conclusions in my own words from there.

I thought that Dutch and German were very similar the way that English and American English are similar.

They have some similarities (some words "sound" the same but that's about it).

Flemish is very similar to Dutch, but it's a bit like Irish and English I guess.

I know some Dutch people, my neighbour's wife came from the Netherlands for example, and at first she didn't understand anything of what we were saying.

Also, Flemish has a whole lot of variaties and constantly changes. Hard to understand if you aren't from around here I guess.

Every town and city has a different dialect, but Flemish people can understand one another most of the time lol.

I speak Eastern-Flemish which is very different from West-Flemish for example, so when I talk to people from there we both have to adjust for a while before we can actually comunicate :o)

It's a bit like a whole lot of variaties of extended slang, it isn't the same thing but wouldn't really know what to compare it to.

  Happy birthday, Meshuggah.
Have a good one, man. :)

I semi-know Latin, I can peice together what some things mean, but that's only on paper. I have an aunt who lives in Germany, I figure I should probably learn the language on the off chance I'll get to visit her and her family. I have a long list of tongues I would like to speak and I doubt I will ever know all of them. Though at this point it's far from urgent.
