I learned that valuable lesson early in my teens with women I dated, and with managers I worked for.

Hell...I'm not always completely and utterly honest here.

show me a person that is 100% honest all the time in their interactions with anyone and I'll show you a fictional character

I'm usually brutally honest with people if I dislike something about them, wether they ask my opinion or not.

But if it's to my advantage I'm not afraid of lying either though.

And what might that be, mat?

Wow, this is kind of wierd. Just last night this story was on the news, bizare how my net life and real life intertwine.
I'm still ranting about this since then, she got the goddamned education, just because she said something unflattering about her school does not mean they have the right to deny her what she obviously worked her ass off for. This is the price for telling the truth now? She's already got a scholarship, she doesn't need them to go places, I hope she doesn't apologize for it.
Some people need to be hit up side the head, with a nice heavy textbook.

Okay, I'm fine now, I just have to go curse and throw things.

feh. You want to know where my hs diploma is? In a drawer somewhere. She knows what she accomplished, she doesn't need some piece of paper to tell her that.

I say good for her for telling the truth, even though some didn't want to hear it. I hope she doesn't apologize either.

What she said is true for almost all NYC schools; high school, primary, and junior high. I know. I'm a 'proud' grad myself.
When I say almost all, the exceptions are a total of 6-odd speciality schools, including 4 for the super smart (Bronx Science, Brooklyn Tech, Stuyvasent for the so-smart-its-physically-scary, and Townsent Harris in Queens where my sister goes) and a few for the performing arts.
It really sucks, but there are a few including the one where I went to where the teachers are excellent and love to to teach, granted that was 3 years ago.
