Apparently the term redneck has a whole different meaning in Belgium than it does in America.
Ms. Coulter is from New England, and it occurs to me that there are not a whole lot of redneck from that area of the counry.

Apparently.

So you're saying that Miss Coulter's public is limited to her home state?

No, I'm saying that redneck is mostly a regional term and they don't come from New England.

Watch the coulter clip. The O'Reilly one is fairly amusing as well, but for Coulter...

I've got so many problems with her it goes beyond simple words, but I'll make an effort: Decieving propagandist, solicitous media-whore, say-anything-to-sell-my-book-pundit, never-heard-of-factchecking, blindly-supporting-anyone-who-wears-the-neoconservative-label trashy, wishes-she-was-the-prom-queen author.

I remember watching that episode of the 5th Estate {I think that that was the program, could have been the Passionate Eye} and nearly wanting to throw up. It sickens me that two of the leading faces in the American media can say such idiotic things. Both sides of the spectrum have such people, but currently, these two have the greatest amount of positive public exposure.

She thinks liberals hate America.

She thinks America is a great country.

Half of the country hates the United States, and yet it's a great country?

There is the fundamental contradiction of Ann Coulter.

Of course in Stratford, Vermont you have "this is my brother Darrel, and this is my other brother Darrel, but you can tell by their accents they're not really New Englanders, they must be transplants.

Too bad, it's the same technique they used for Mr. Clinton.
And for what it's worth, she is an attractive woman, though she couldn't hope to compare with Sweet P

haha. It's just cause she's blonde. Women can be so ugly, but if they're blonde, they can get away with anything.
She looks like a horse. And she's boney.

That's just what non-blondes are made to believe/hate because of the media. Most guys I know aren't that much into blondes.

That's just ignorant.
Beauty has nothing to do with hair color.
Yes she is on the thin side, but she is an attractive woman nonetheless.
But even better than being attractive, she is brilliant.

Whether or not the woman is attractive or not is moot, if you would all just remember that stuff about beholders and their eyes, etc. This argument is frustrating to watch as it is really about politics but everyone appears to be too lazy to actually discuss politics directly.

Political threads are not my favorite, but one would be preferable to this nonsense.

Also, Addison, since when did 'brilliant' equal 'wise'? For goodness' sake, in England it means 'awesome.'

I am tired and cranky but I am done ranting now because I have forgotten how to spell...

In your defense, I don't think a man who resides in Kentucky would be using "brilliant" in the British sense. However, picturing Hif, or at least his persona I suppose, exclaiming, "Oh, that's simply brilliant!" had me laughing. Alot.

You are not smart enough to get her Zacq.
She is preaching to the choir. That's what she does.
She's not trying to convert anyone to her side. She only writes for those who are already on her side.
But I will say this.
Anyone who can get the left up in arms and ranting and raving like a bunch of goons just by the mere mention of her name has got to be brilliant.
And as for her lack of fact checking, I challenge anyone to find an instance where she has been forced to print a retraction.

I'm not sure exactly what that means in reference to me and my persona, but in Kentucky the word brilliant usually means very intelligent or very shiny.
But if I did something to make you laugh, then that's a good thing. I like to make people laugh.
Too bad my sense of humor is largely lost in this forum.

It's usually not lost on me. I'm sure a few slip past now and again, but I'll be sure to start remarking when you make me laugh. :o)
(And for the record, that's how I assumed you used the word brilliant. We were definitely on the same page. Grin.)

I probably can't find an instance she was forced to print a retraction. I'm not precisely sure under what circumstances someone is forced to print a retraction. If a bunch of people point out your lies and distortions, is there anything saying you have to admit to being wrong?

She has retracted things she has said, such as, I believe, saying the New York Times waited a day before printing a front page article about Dale Earnhardt even though they did. Or something like that. I can find the link to her site.

Regardless, most of her problems aren't fact-checking, it's more ignoring facts. Or twisting fact-checking by saying, overloading Nexis searches to prove things that aren't true. Or making shit up.

Zacq Posted: Mon Apr 18 23:20:16 2005 Post | Quote in Reply
And by the way, I just checked her site and she has a picture with Hilarry Clinton severely distorted and the line 'If Time Were Fair and Balance.'

That's hilariously stupid not just because they did the exact thing to her they did to a Democrat, but they did it to Hillary's husband. Ignorance is no.. it's basically just funny.

Okay, so you used a site that has pages proving it false as an example showing that Coulter has no similar site, unless of course one searches 'coulter lies' on Google.

The fact-checking on this one is almost, dare I say, Coulteresque?
