Stepping out of that lurking position...
JesusOnline Posted: Sun Apr 24 17:21:49 2005 Post | Quote in Reply
I've finally decided to commit myself to participating within GTforum, I've lurked around and read for long enough now.

My name is Mark Angus, I'm from Aberdeen Scotland. I've recently accepted a position with Shell EP Europe working offshore in the North Sea as an Operations Technician. So I have plenty of spare time on my hands - which I shall now part with to become a GT junkie.

  Is your name Jesus.

If it is not, do you love the guy in an almost homosexual kind of way?

  Hullo.

We have a habit of shortening names here, as you've probably noticed...I might call you jeez-o.

>a position with Shell EP Europe working offshore in the North Sea as an Operations Technician.

What does that mean? What do you get to do with this job?

  Aaha.
Chris, I like your new avatar.
I laughed most at the options for ass shaking. And I never realised the thing about the water.
Hah.

Hmm, I was planning to apply to Shell's Gourami Challenge on some island next year. Heard anything about it?

Probably a technician on North Sea oil platforms, or a guy who sits behind tv screens checking that nothing is burning.

I hate r&b/rap, with a passion. I see it as a form of cultural murder and commercialised stupification and marginalisation.

You are free to shake your ass as much as you wish though. I know I do.

My username is taken from A bush song of the same name.

As an Ops Tech I monitor the water which is being dumped back to sea, trying to limit the oil pollution from the rig. And am a call point for the maintenance crew before they attempt to start any work, it's my job to issue a permit to work, make sure they're working safely etc... It's not an interesting position.

That I doubt.

I bet your head is one of the first to roll if something would ever go wrong.

Is the pay any good?

Welcome, Heyzuess. If you've been lurking for a while then you know something about each one of us already......advantage Jesus.

It's a little crazy at the moment, but mostly we're all pretty happy campers with each other...we just get pissed off at all the other non-GT idiots fucking up life.

I'll be honest and say no, it isn't something I've come stumbled over, however I'm now going to look it up and find out what it's all about

I just noticed that over 99% of all problems in the world are created by people that don't post on GT. I propose a world government system in which the GT Council, or tGTC, control.. everything. Including weather.

Dibs on Minister of Redundancy Minister.

Are you contracted around the North sea?
I'm on the North Cormorant, I don't know much about the extents of H2S around the north sea, however my limited knowledge would say that the NC isn't all that bad in H2S terms, a few wells have high content but generally for the age of the wells it's no all bad
