My summer obsession

  http://www.guildwars.com/

I highly suggest that anybody that enjoyed DiabloII, FFXI, or World of Warcraft check this out. Very entertaining, and considerably cheaper than other MMORPGs (there is no monthly fee, for example).

Let me know if you've got a copy, we can team up sometime.

Well, I was very interested in Guild Wars but I heard that it was completely based on PvP and had a weak plot.

I play Diablo II right now. However I have played diablo for three years off and on and would love to try something else.

I used to play Star Wars Galaxies and would play World of Warcraft right now if there was no monthly fee. Anyway I was planning on doing Guild Wars but I enjoy questing and am not much of a dueler. Please let me know if I have been misinformed.

I considered it, but exams are coming up and I heard it's not really a MMORPG, but that you just team up for seperate quests, and that there's no real character building going on since you can be very good very quickly. Read some reviews that say that after a while you've seen it all.

Currently I'm playing quite a lot of Stronghold 2.

  Glossary:

MMORPG: Mass-Multiplayer Role Playing Game
PvP: Player vs. Player
FFXI: Final Fantasy Eleven; a popular MMORPG

for HSolo216: The plot hasn't really unfolded much thus far, but the PvP thing isn't quite as you heard it; upon creating a new character, you have two options (keep in mind you can create up to 4 characters on one account):

Role-Playing Character: Plays the came Cooperative RPG style; can enter arenas in which to PvP, with no loss to the character's stats, or items, or gold, etc. Purely for competition and fun's sake, but absolutely not critical to gameplay.

PvP Character: Starts you off as a top-level character with basically no equipment or skillsets; from there you do a slight amount of fighting in 1vs1, 2vs2, or 4vs4 to build up gold/fame/skills, but there is no role-playing required.

Overall, I'd say Questing takes up about 90% of the game time, as far as I can tell. Quests can be done solo or in groups.

Christophe: It's basically an MMORPG without some of the more annoying bits; ie: FFXI was overcrowded in popular levelling areas, Rare Monsters were camped nonstop, etc. Guild Wars has instanced quest/dungeon areas and fixes those problems, but still has the MMORPG feel whenever you're in a town or city or commons area; the in-game economy is very rich and nice.

I'll say that I'm enjoying it much more than I did World of Warcraft, and I'm a long time Blizzard fan.

I am still playing Halo 2, and will be until XBox Two comes out.

When I play online it's usually Age of Empires (always classic), Battle Realms, AvP 2, or any Unreal Tournament game. I'm not into the massive-multiplayer type, and it's too difficult to play shooters like CS online when half the people do nothing in their lives but play it and kill you instantly.

I've loved Safin ever since his five setter vs. Roddick. His match against Federer this year at the Aussie Open was one of my favorites ever.

Yup, I love him too. I met him once on President's Cup back home before he became so popular. He was rising Russian tennis star then, which quickly made him popular in my country too.

Oh, I remember now. Have any of you played Rome: Total war? I'm thinking of getting it, it looks really good. I played Shogun: Total War when it first came out....and it sucked. Played Medieval: Total War when it came out and I loved it.

There goes the last bit of magic in my life.

All that remains now is for libra to declare her love to a perverted leprechaun.

:)

I just made it black and white, fiddled with the contrast/brightness, and then went in and colored in the drinks by hand. They really were green, but not that green. (and they weren't both mine, btw)
