it's strange at times when you never expect to allow someone into your life, and suddenly someone comes along to disturb the groove of your present life.

for a year now, i've been living the single life.

sure, i've been out on dates.
sure, i've met a couple of interesting people along the way.

but i stop short of pursuing anything further.

my best excuse is that i'm too busy to date.

my impending overseas posting can and will happen anytime soon, which i will be sent to my overseas branch indefinately.

being single, i can leave anytime i want.
which is the reason why i didn't allow anyone into my life.

other than that, the other reason is that i'm scared.
scared of commitment
scared of promises
scared of getting into a relationship and losing that in the end.
scared of love
and scared of getting hurt and face the possibility of finding that magic and losing it at the end of the day.

and knowing my luck with women and how i met all my ex girlfriends, she was no different.

chance encounter. being at a party where i wasn't supposed to be at. last minute appearance.
and there she was.

i was pretty much interested, but i decided not to call.

swerve and avoid the collision.
just swerve, chan...

no happiness, thus no sadness.

and a message a week later and here we go...

life's curveball and unexpected ironies.

as always, i'm a sucker for conversations and a bright smile.
as always, i'm a sucker for intelligence
as always, i'm a sucker for, well... you get my drift by now.

so where do we go from here?

a young girl who has the world to explore and endless possibilities getting together with
a man who's tired of playing the field who has become a workaholic and lives only for work and work only.

we have everything against us.

class difference. rich girl meets regular joe.

one who's going back new york
one who's going to work in bangkok

and an age difference of a decade between us...

and that's only skimming the surface of it all...

where do we really go from here?

can i tie her down?
it would be unfair, to be honest with you. she has the world to explore.

me? i've been around the block a couple of times and my focus is just my career.

i'm still trying to be rational about this. and my reason tells me this is gonna be a roller coaster ride, and it won't last.

the odds are against this thing we have.

the thing is, how long can we sustain this.

life... plays such ironies and sometimes tease your reasoning.

for once,
i find no answer.

for once,
i really can't tell what's going to happen.

reason goes out the door when you fall for somebody.
Easier said than done, but try to sit back, relax, laugh, and enjoy the present with her, chan.

If she's fallen deeply for you (and you for her) the obsticles mentioned above won't make a damn bit of difference.

Addi stole my thoughts. Sure, there are fears and concerns and differences and what-nots, but life is too short to let all these worries stop you from living.

Hop in and enjoy the ride for what it's worth. Worry about the crash and burn later, if it comes at all.

Anyways, how many of us guys get the opportunity with an older woman, you lucky bastard.

Go Go Go!

All you have is this moment now. the future hold not gaurentees for any of us. so live in the moment and as our two esteemed GTer's said before I got on here to rant, enjoy the ride and try not to worry about the future.

For what it's worth...

I say go for it, but tying her up/down is a very interesting idea.
Handcuffs are better than rope in some situations.

she ain't the sort of person who posted on GT in the past, is she? i'm only asking out of curiousity, which a few clues in your writing steamed outta me.

it's a weird one... that decision to be with a person in this world of fleeting chances and ultimate loss. ain't got anything better though.

i like the ninja resemblance, in the avatar.
