wish list..
Cherry_Moon Posted: Wed Dec 6 16:33:17 2006 Post | Quote in Reply
has anyone started a wish list online anywhere? And what for? Are you planning to send everyone to that for shopping ideas for xmas or other occasions?

i just found the idea of a wish list as something very handy... No wasted money or people wondering what the hell to get you...

I'm asking for money so that I can buy a new iPod (mine is full).

I also make a list of books and movies that i'd like, and sometimes send my mom links to clothes that I like.
I'm asking for a nice set of the Lord of the Rings books too.

My family has gotten kinda lazy recently and we do a lot of gift certificates and envelopes with cash inside. Its fine with me, but it was still way more fun to have boxes to open with fun, exciting, and completely surprising things inside. (Like American Girl dolls and their tiny clothes, a real live pet bird, bikes, and that kind of thing - although i guess the bird was not in a box.)

lol

reminded me of a monty python sketch:

C: Never mind that, my lad. I wish to complain about this parrot what I purchased not half an hour ago from this very boutique.

O: Oh yes, the, uh, the Norwegian Blue...What's,uh...What's wrong with it?

C: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. 'E's dead, that's what's wrong with it!

O: No, no, 'e's uh,...he's resting.

it's funny really...well..maybe you have to be a tad demented and like Python to appreciate it.

  This is my list:
A one man kayak, with insulated wear and a PFD. Also paddles. They are important.
Amazon, B&N, and Starbucks gift cards.
A new hard drive and more RAM. Screw it, just a laptop.
Mostly and really, I just want to see my friend. I miss her, a lot.

I really don't think I want anything else.

Aww...how sweet.
I'd consider it a very successful christmas if we all are with loved ones, are healthy, are well fed, and at peace with ourselves...

...as long as I get that doll too

I wish all couples could have what my wife and I have in our relationship.

I'm at a place in my life I never thought I could be, we love each other so much.

One of my favorite things in life now is that hug and kiss on my way out the door in the morning. I hold her in my arms and she holds me back and the whole world disappears except for the two of us in that moment.

Then I tell her how much I love her and get in my card and drive to work.

I just wish I knew how she felt, that's all. She's so hard to decipher. It's like.....damn. I could interpret it either way and I wouldn't be held to fault for however I interpreted it, because it's just so damn hard to tell with her.

That's all I really wish for. Just to know once and for all where exactly things stand.

Maybe I just don't understand the circumstances, but why don't you two just ask them? Maybe you'd like the answer, maybe you wouldn't, but at least the misery of not knowing would be gone.

LOL!!

Are you sure? I mean maybe you have every intention to wash it, but you end up being side tracked in the shower thinking about other things or singing, and forget to wash it. Stuff like that happens all the time.

I know I'm always thinking about other things when I'm in the shower and then I get out and start drying myelf with the towel and realize I totally forgot to shave my legs..which sucks cuz then I can't wear my kilt.

Negatory my good man. If things went badly, that would make for some awkward Mondays-Fridays.

I've already made that mistake. Not lookin' to do it again.

I'm a miserable failure when it comes to wish lists or anything like that. Mostly because my mind doesn't work that way. Unless its deordant or something that I know I need, I generally cannot remember the list all year long and then recite it for someone when they ask me for my christmas list. Drives my wife crazy.

I know part of it comes from conditioning, or lack of conditioning. Growing up as a Jehovah's Witness, we never celebrated christmas, it was not until I had kids when I finally participated in the festivities, and even now I still don't get a big thrill out of it.

I enjoy watching the kids get stuff, that is the highlight, but I'm not a very needy person so I don't really need much. Make a donation to a worthy cause in my name if you so desire and that will work for me.

However, so as not to digress completly from the point of this thread, I will give a breif list of what comes to mind at this very moment.

1.) Crash (Movie)
2.) Madden 07 (PS2)
3.) Macbook (I'm afraid I may be converting because the macbook is just damn cool, not because of their ad campaign which bugs me.)
4.) A good book. (Pick one I don't care, if you think it was good I'll give it a shot)
5.) A better year for my family and all those who had a rough year.

That's it. I am now in search of gum to make the coffee taste in my mouth go away.

For what it's worth...

As for me, I can't remember the last time I wanted or needed any material thing for X-mas.

This year, I do wish I could give Mr. Addi an eyebrown wax (as a present for myself, not for him of course.) *LOL*
