Good news for Autism research

  This is really good news.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16099753/site/newsweek/

Autism now affects one in every 166 births. Those are not good odds.

I have a grandson with autism.
I wonder how many GT'ers are close to someone with autism ?

You never know, someone here might have a be a high-functioning autistic. Like me, for instance. You never know.....

And yes, I do have a niece who is autistic. I love her to death, I wish I could see her more often. Bless her heart, she tries so hard I can tell. She just can't grasp what's proper in interactions, though.

I'm trying to rememer the name and author of that novel with an autistic boy as the protaganist, very good book. I'll have to find it on my shelves.

I have a very good friend who is mildly autistic.

Maybe you are talking about "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time"?
