These Are A Few of My Favorite Things
innocenceNonus Posted: Wed Jan 3 22:09:38 2007 Post | Quote in Reply
ok... so I'm super-awesome [or super nerdy] and love love LOVE cool things off the internet [as you might have noticed in that i post links about cool sites that i enjoy... like, ALL the time].

anyway, since i thought flooding the GT forum would be rude, i thought starting a thread where we could all share our [new] favorites would be cool.

you know... i mooch off you and you mooch of me. we scratch each other's backs sorta thing.

ANYWAY... here are my current ones:

Daily Show Even Stevphen Best Of [my FAVORITE]:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=BzdccjXleXg

The HAHAHAHAHAHA song... it's SUPER crazy and super weird... and really, really funny. i laughed throughout the entire thing [only because it's ridiculous]:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=sr2iRO42fU4

Colbert's address at the White House Correspondents' Dinner [the first part]:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=QTWDnPi7W1o

And I know that this video is being mainstreamed now, but i still love it. Regina Spektor's Fidelity.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=SGTDRztaCCw

And last night i spent several hours perusing time's cover story for person of the year: you. They did spotlights on different "internet" ppl, and i thought some of the spotlights were pretty cool. My favorite profiles? the woman who wrote 12000+ reviews for Amazon, the one for tila tequila [AHAHAHAHAHA], the one for Kamini, and the wikipedia guy. The first one [for the others, scroll down and click "next"]:

one of my favorite episodes of King of the Hill is the one of an exclusively Asian country club wanting to make Hank a member to meet their minority quota. The Asian characters were always putting "Super" in front of words to describe something...like referring to Hank as "Super White!"

: )

I'm sorry to say I could only take about 15 seconds of the Hahahaha Song. That could be used as a form of torture to interrogate prisoners.

Daily Show and Colbert's address are Super Great links though!

AHAHAHAHAHAHA. ok, so because i'm SUPER nerdy, i watch Naruto [the anime] subbed. And the translation i was watching had this old guy saying things like "we must go super fast!" or "it is super stupid!" or "you are super good!"

ANNDDDDDDd... i dunno that reminded of THAT, and i smiled. thanks, addi. : )

i like it! it's really cute, and very comical. simple, too.

i dunno if you like subtle/ stupid humor [humor typically not designed for the masses], but have you ever seen Stella with Michael Showalter, Michael Ian Black, and David... [forgot the last name]??

personally, i think it's comedic gold... but most people disagree. : (

The universal human condition. So very unique individually, and yet so much in common with the same wants and needs deep down.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXwarrIYLJ4&feature=PlayList&p=8639EDA0042E248C&index=3

I found it funny, sad, interesting, and touching.
Taken from the best of 2006 list.

From a male perspective...

You can have your G-string strip tease, lap dance, pole dance, raunchy hip-hop videos...whatever

No dancing comes close to erotic sensuality than this for me.

and something tells me it's much harder than it looks to master

  hip vibration....

not that hard to master if the girl knows how to do all of the other dancing forms above. i can't see how it's sexy... she just vibrates for 7 min.... my vibrator does about the same dance...

I don't know about the other dances you mentioned. Have never watch it in real life. But I am not impressed with the belly dancer in the video. I've seen better (much better, actually) while I was in Egypt.

  *watched.

For some reason I don't care much for that type of the music. While I was in Cairo, I went to a dance show and there was this (seemingly) never-ending song (25 mins or so) ..... talk about torture to the ears but the gorgeous belly dancers were wonderful - very seductive dance indeed.

  One of my favorite songs:

Como vai voce

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RP2gfxy5OdQ

Preciso tanto me fazer feliz

Preciso tanto me fazer feliz

Vem, que o tempo pode afastar nós dois
Não deixe tanta vida pra depois
Eu só preciso saber
Como vai você?

Translation:

How are you?

I need to know about your life
Ask someone to tell me about your day
It got dark and I just need to know
How are you?
(The person that) have already changed my life
(The) reason for my forgotten peace
I don't even know if I like me or you more
Come, that the longing/thirsty to love you makes me better
I want to wake up beside/around you
I need so much to make me happy

Come, because the time can separate us both
Don't leave so much life for later/tomorrow
I just need to know
How are you?

How are you?
(The person that) have already changed my life
(The) reason for my forgotten peace
I don't even know if I like me or you

Come, that the longing/thirsty to love you makes me better
I want to wake up beside/around you
I need so much to make me happy

Come, because the time can separate us both
Don't leave so much life for later/tomorrow
I just need to know
How are you?

my point with providing the link was only to use it as an example of belly dancing...not to suggest that girl is the best one out there.
I'm sure there's better and worse dancers out there now. I just enjoy watching it and happen to think it's a very hot form of dancing..that's all.

: )
