balls balls balls...damn. So I crashed my car into a truck. Hurray for snow in Buffalo. No control. Just had to sit in the car while it slid for ten seconds before finally going into a parked truck. ugh...anyone else having fun in the snow or lack of?

I just got new tires so I don't slide so much anymore :) Here in Durango CO it's more ice than snow in town, but I hear that the Ski areas are getting happy snowfall.

Total bummer about the car, is it bad damage?

I have yet to crash because of ice myself but last year I watched a huge ford take out a bike. It was ugly.

  Glad you're safe at least.
Don't run into that problem here in Atlanta, but you reminded me of my snow driving days in Minneapolis. I even remember times when people would don their parkas and pull up a lawn chair in front of trouble areas just to watch the sliding and fender benders in real time.

We got a tiny bit of snow here in PA. A lot of people are mad because they got spoiled by the nice weather we had been having.

We have so much frackin' snow we dont' know what to do with it in the Denver Metro Area...

There are 15-20' Piles randomly placed in every open place because they don't have enough room to put it all. Its so damn cold that it won't melt fast enough.

There is easily 3' still out in front of my apartment and we just got another 6-9" last night. Was suppose to be 3-6."

Sounds like Durango is getting some snow, but I was in Aspen a couple weeks ago and they are still making snow up there because they haven't gotten crap. The weather pattern seems to be dumping all of this on the East side of the Divide.

My Honda hates it. I don't mind but I don't like being cold.

So yeah, that's the snow report from my world.

They say it may not snow this weekend, first time in 4-5 weeks. Whoo Hoo...

Not that it matters...

Actually you can play tennis in a canoe, but you have to paddle really really fast and the balls don't bounce too good.

My brother works in Summit County and lives a few miles north of keystone and everytime I call him it seems to be snowing, so if you're ski fan I think you'll be okay.

Depending on where you are coming from I hear that the eastern plains have been slammed again, mostly blowing snow, but the school districts out there have shut down again today.

So wherever you are coming from drive safe and enjoy.

For what it's worth...

Up until a week ago it was Spring here, for all intents and purposes. Then it snowed half an inch (if that), which melted before ten am, and everybody had their traditional Winter Weather Panic Attack. Now it is just very cold, and wet.

Cold without snow is an injustice.

Dude, Durango is far better than Aspen. We've got three breweries in town and two more within half hour drive. We've got snow, not man made snow but pure pow-pow. Our women get out and play like the boys, they don't just stand about in expensive coats trying to impress others with how much they spent on their gear. Our women can and will out drink our men. In the summer we've got the river, waterfalls, motorcycles even more beer and hott girls who believe in the bodies freedom when swimming and sun bathing.
And we're about three weeks from Snowdown, the greatest week long holiday ever; devoted entirely to getting very drunk and playing in snow. It's like Mardi gra, with snow.

Casper, next time you make it to Durango aim for Snowdown. Are you doin' a boarding tour or something with Durango and Keystone and all?

That just shows you how ignorant I am about American TV shows.
Actually I don't watch much of anything on TV, except CNN.

Back to this topic:

My beamer lost total control and did it free-spinning for about 20 seconds when I was driving home from work on Lunar New Year's eve (Feb 2005). Thank God there was no one on the highway at that time and I didn't hit anything. I still don't know how it happened but that sure scared the crap out of my Dad when I called him. That was my first encounter with driving on icy roads. I learned that it doesn't matter what kind of car you drive and you can never be careful enough when it comes to ice and snow.

I am glad you're safe, Ahriman.

okay...that just pisses me off. What in god's name are these fools even doing out on the roads when they're in that condition?! I mean it's not like they were driving and all of a sudden said, "Oh Dear...it's icey today".

So many idiot people behind the wheel. If it's a dire emergency and you can't get an ambulance then it's understandable, but something tells me 99.9% of these yahoos driving decided to test the roads for other reasons.
