was beltin' this out today driving in my car...with the top down.

Blue eyes
Baby's got blue eyes
Like a deep blue sea
On a blue blue day
Blue eyes
Baby's got blue eyes
When the morning comes
I'll be far away
And I say

Blue eyes
Holding back the tears
Holding back the pain
Baby's got blue eyes
And she's alone again

baby, what you want me to do/ losers weepers - etta james (best belted out with a hairbrush for a microphone)

the weight- the band

hey jude- the beatles
(especially the end na nas)

use me - bill withers
(i sing along to this all of the time in the car)

ain't no easy way out - black rebel motorcycle club

i won't dance- blossom dearie
(especially the french part; she sings it with such an american accent it's fun to exaggerate and sing along)

idiot wind- bob dylan
(this song came with me on a two month long roadtrip two years ago, and i now know it by heart. it breaks my heart every time i hear it, but it's satisfying to sing aloud since i think everyone has known a jerk who has hurt them in some way.)

let me die in my footsteps - bob dylan

lay lady lay- bob

mr. tambourine man - bob

spanish harlem incident - live 1964
actually, anything on that album since that was bob's yelling phase and it is satisfying to yell from the lungs under the guise of singing

love you madly - cake

the wind- cat stevens

fortunate son - CCR
i LOVE singing this song at the top of my lungs. but also, i love singing to every song CCR ever sung. it just makes me want to stand up and be heard.

express yourself- charles wright and the watts 103rd street band

you never can tell- chuck berry

the honeymoon is over - the cruel sea (hif if you don't have this song, i think you'd like it)

bohemian like you- dandy warhols
okay, seriously, really one of the best songs ever. i never grow tired of it which says something.

i feel just like a child- devendra banhart

sunshine superman- donovan

LIGHT MY FIRE/BEEN DOWN SO LONG- THE DOORS (bright midnight versions)
when i lived in france i would go on roadtrips to southern france with my french family and they mostly preferred classical (which i like, but c'mon, it's a roadtrip) and the *only CD* they owned that wasn't classical was the doors. it was on those trips that i got to know them well, and i would belt this song out with my french family alot, which was hilarious. honestly, who is like, "i like chopin, beethoven, grieg, the doors, bach..."

the yeah yeah yeah song- the flaming lips

build me up buttercup- the foundations

when u love somebody- fruit bats

my sweet lord- george harrison

i'll fly away- gillian welch and alison krauss

hotel california - gypsy kings cover

guilty - gravity kills
(not much singing required, more like talking, but still, fun)

ROCK STAR- HOLE
honestly, as a teenage girl there was nothing more satisfying than screaming this with my headphones on
ps: i realise that courtney love is scary.

freedom hangs like heaven - iron and wine

lover, you should have come over- jeff buckley

somebody to love- jefferson airplane

rise up with fists!! / the big guns- jenny lewis and the watson twins

red house- jimi hendrix
(awww yeah.)

i walk the line/ get a rhythm/ ring of fire/ folsom prison - the one and only cash

whole lotta love- led zeppelin
what a sexy song to sing.

are you gonna go my way - lenny kravitz

ain't that lovin' you babe- link wray
(doesn't have to be sung really, just growled. i love that. i remember when i first heard the album rumble, i fell in love with this song and had it on repeat for months.)

johnny sunshine / supernova- liz phair
(two of my favourite all time songs.)

sweet home alabama - lynyrd skynyrd

bloody mother fucking asshole - martha wainwright

coconut grove- the lovin' spoonful

a magazine called sunset - wilco

the man who sold the world - nirvana

life on a chain - pete yorn
(one of my favourite songs ever.)

sea of love - phil phillips & the twilights

i can't get no satisfaction - the rolling stones
but really, everything on 'high tides and green grass.'

you can't always get what you want- rolling stones

baby driver / feelin' groovy- simon and garfunkel

jungle love- steve miller band

grace- supergrass

this is the day - the the

you don't know how it feels - tom petty and the heartbreakers

fireworks - the tragically hip

i'm in heaven when you smile - van morrison

who loves the sun - velvet underground
the most awkward lyrics ever, but i love it.

buddy holly -weezer

the longest list ever, but hey, i sing to a lot of songs (very badly).

:)

  You're Beautiful by James Blunt...

Or for that fact any song sung by a man with a high voice. That to me is a song that screams to be sung out of tune by morons like my brother and I, who I might add, rarely miss an opportunity to sing one of those songs off key.

Not that it matters...

You got to be kidding me?

You're beautiful is my most hated song of all time. It doesn't even make any sense!

She smiled at me on the subway.
She was with another man.
But I won't lose no sleep on that,
*'Cause I've got a plan.*

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
*And I don't know what to do,*
'Cause I'll never be with you.

What's up with that?

I swear if I ever run into james blunt he's going to loose an eyeball.

Also, has anyone heard that song where some skank sings about her "umberella"? What the fuck, really? I hate people like that and I hate a world in which shit like that sells.

And I also hate the song "Your Beautiful".

I recently made a mix of all the disney songs from my childhood.
My friends and I have been singing along to Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid.

Also:
Stars - Your Ex-Lover Is Dead (and others too...)

Most Death Cab for Cutie and Postal Service

Some Radiohead (the ones that are easier to decipher - i actually know most of the lyrics to A Wolf at the Door now, which I'm proud of)

lots more...

Sorry, folks, but I love it.

I did a double take out on the interstate
When I saw her makin' eyes at me
So I followed her down - the clubhouse drive
Past the pool on the 18th green
In the parkin' lot...I said it's mighty hot
Maybe I could buy you a beer
She said I'm glad you asked...but I'll have to pass
Cause only members are allowed in here...and I said

Chorus:
Well I'm a member of a country club
Country music is what I love
I drive an old Ford pick-up truck
I do my drink-in from a dixie cup
Yea I'm a bona-fide dancin' fool
I shoot a mighty mean game of pool
At any honky-tonk roadside pub
I'm a member of a country club

You look so invitin'...thought it might be excitin'
For a woman with a limousine
To go bouncin around...in a beat up truck
With a man...in wore out jeans
It's five o'clock before Friday night
Here's where the fun begins
So don't worry 'bout your reputation
Cause you can tell all your friends

On the drive home form work.
I want to resist singing it. I really should resist singing it, but god help me...I can't

I went to a dance, looking for romance,
Saw Barbara Ann so I thought I'd take a chance

On Barbara Ann
(Bar bar bar bar Barbar Ann)

Come take my hand
(Bar bar bar bar Barbar Ann)

You got me rockin' and a rollin'
Rockin' and a reelin'

Barbara Ann

  Hello darkness, my old friend,
Ive come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence.

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone,
neath the halo of a street lamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of
A neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence.

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more.
People talking without speaking,
People hearing without listening,
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one deared
Disturb the sound of silence.

Fools said i,you do not know
Silence like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you,
Take my arms that I might reach you.
But my words like silent raindrops fell,
And echoed
In the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon God they made.
And the sign flashed out its warning,
In the words that it was forming.
And the signs said, the words of the prophets
Are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls.
And whisperd in the sounds of silence.
