Happens to me on Safari, Firefox, and IE as well.
Seems to me that it's a Microsoft problem and they don't seem to be doing much about so far.

It also happens on Thunderbird for me.

exactly.

it freezes everything into this nasty mess and it drives me nuts.

chrome honestly is great for searching stuffs but it's about the same as IE when it comes to frozen messes with windows 7.

I really like windows 7 better then vista or even apple.

For sure, but if they can't come up with a fix for this "not responding" crap I'm gonna be tempted to give Linux a try.
