Ahhhh, it's good to be back home in GT land again. Kind of quiet though. Maybe some old friends might stop by if I leave the light on.

Are you feeling comfortable enough to consider yourself a New Yorker ?
Do you miss the south ?

I love New York, but I don't think I'll ever be a New Yorker. I'm happy to pretend for now.

First kid comes along I'll flee back to the countryside.

When you say "first kid comes along", what exactly do you mean by that ?
:-)

Pieeeeee! What kind of pie? I ate the heck out of some homemade pumpkin pie, a special family recipe of my wife's family that has LOTS OF EXTRA SUGAR. My goodness, it was good.

Don't even get me started on the turkey sandwiches the next day. Mmmmm mmm!

What are ya'lls plans for the Christmas season?

We had a pumpking pie and a salted caramel chocolate almond pie.
We're going to the Smoky Mountains for 3 days, coming home on Christmas Eve.

Step 1: Find a man who thinks naming a kid Ebenezer is a great idea. Convert to libertarianism if necessary.

Step 2 (optional): Marry him.

Step 3: Have kid.

Step 4: Flee city with family.

I would be interested to hear from any of our Asian friends what they think of American Chinese food. I'm pretty sure our version of "authentic" Chinese food is nowhere to be found in China, though I have no evidence to support that.

Not Asian, but I will say that dinners with my (ABC) ex's family was pretty much never like eating "Chinese food" except for all the rice. Was a while ago so I can't really remember the dishes to describe them, but there was an instance of him bringing home leftovers from his aunt's and not telling me there was beef tongue in it until after I ate it. It was overly chewy and I didn't appreciate the surprise.
