    Addi
    3 May 2004

    Stepping through the careless fog
Stumbling o’er gnarled root and fallen log
A search for labor’s end and downy bed
Soft pillow’s loft to lay my head

I was there once, this precious place
And held it close in tight embrace
With every step, this is my end
Return once more, my days to spend

An evening breeze across my face
It’s scent so near, I speed my pace
With wooden frame, white cotton sheet
My soul will rest and feel complete

Endless vistas, so far to go
‘Cross mountain tops where rivers flow
I will not stop. I will not stray
Until I’m home on her to lay
